AFFILIATE:
The term "affiliate" simply means "general registrant". For example, an affiliate might be a court reporter, a student, a firm owner, or a teacher. Registering as an affiliate puts you in the CASST/ACTSS data base where, no matter what your role, you will be counted as a participant in the overall Canadian profession. Currently there is no charge for affiliate membership. After CASST's first annual general meeting, you must re-register either as a true affiliate (someone who does not work as a court reporter in Canada) or in one of the other two categories.
